new gunner please help

i am new to being a support gunner i have usually played as a rifleman but am am going to get a BDU and an upgraded scar m4 jing gong with a 5000 round box mag so i am asking what are some good tactics?

Well first dont be in the front of the squad try to stay in the center so you can help all sides. Also your main purpous is to lay down fire and keep the other team from sticking out there head. I would say get a higher volt and amp battery so you can fire longer and have a faster rate of fire

There are several things you can do. First is follow what Jman said UNLESS there is another support gunner on your team then you want to have one on one side and one on the other. This allows you to have a cross fire and keeps the enemy from moving up to much and it also allows you to cover a larger area and the flanks. The best tactic that I have found is to just stay behind the riflemen and fire over there heads in a manner of speech. They have to more accurate guns so they will get most of the kills but you will be the one that they will be most worried about just because the other guys will have to reload allot more than you should have to. (If you go through 5000 rounds that quick there is something wrong) You will also want to hit the surrounding area at the place where the enemy is this will keep there heads down and will allow others to move up and to attack the enemy thus allowing a swift victory. Yeah support gunners , are just what they are called , " support " gunners , meaning they provide covering fire for those who need it .

Really learn all you can about all tactics and all positions on the battle field so if you are support you also want to know about riflemen and snipers and so on this may help you predict what the enemy will do and you can applie these tactics to being a support gunner. Just becase you have a role doesnt mean you have to play by it. You can be a support with a saw and still be stealthy and run around them then start firing from behind. This would help your team emensly.

Yeah just stay out of the way , and you should be fine . Unless anything else needs to be added please open it back up Admins or other mods if so but until then , topic closed .

Hey he doesn't have to stay out of the way thats not what a support gunner is for really you should be out of the main fighting but still really close but let the other guys still have you if they need you but other than that just play like a rifleman until the time when you are needed for your job.

This reminds me of a movie , Saving Private Ryan , now I know what teams act like , squads , well instead of having a sqaud of mixed soldiers with mixed specialities , we have a quad of snipers , a squad of engineers , a quad of support gunners , and a squad of medics , and so on .

Ya i guess that could work only would would have really off balance teams.

whaqt happens if the sniper sqaud is rushed and i guess the medic team would never be out in airsoft

Actually Medics are soldiers just like anybody else so they can become out , and this only works when a large number of people play with us , I control the sniper group usaully .

well i still think the sniper and support should be split into 2 teams of 50/50 to make sure snipers don't get rushed.

Well here is more advice from me. Learn the tactics of everyone on your team and read a few books. Remember the saying "keep your freinds close, and keep your enemys closer" this means you should know how your ememy will act and what he is doing. Also knowing the tactics of your team when you need to make desions fast you all know everyones idea.

In response to that last post and everyone pay attention to what I am about to say.

Snipers, since vietnam, have recorded all their kills within a book they carry with them. This allows them to study it later and learn how humans react, thus applying that knowledge later and allowing the sniper a method of determining what another person is going to do.

About teams, I always said you should have half as many support gunners as riflemen, and the same number of snipers.

Example: 4 Riflemen, 2 support gunners, and 4 snipers (2 main snipers and 2 spotters).

well i think that would be crazy to see a team of sniper in ghillie suits so they will be all seen. but the medics i meant the way i play the medic can tag you in as many times as you want but once hes out no one can tag him in because theres no other medics but with a team of medics when someone is shot they get tagged in so they would be unstoppable

That would be scary. Also about AFU's post it should only be a small notebook 3x6 max and probly want colored paper (dark green) and a pen that is not bright pink.

I would buy a SAW or M60 or something that could lay down fire and keep the enemy in because that is basicaly your job so good luck hope this helps. And also make sure it holds lots of ammo your going to need it.

Get a box mag one of the 10000 round ones

right now with the saw im getting it will have 2500 bb's plenty for one match but i will also have extra bb's with me.

when you start to upgrade you will need a bigger mag because the saw can fire well over 70 rps when upgraded

ya i know but first i have to get the money to upgrade it lol.
